A lovely stop-over!

The bedroom was very spacious, clean and tidy. The bed super comfortable and the bathroom had a lovely big shower. The hostess, Amanda, was welcoming and friendly and evidently a super kind caring person taking care of rescued animals on her property.

Highly recommended!

This is a gem in the overnight accommodation category.

Beautiful property that is well maintained and stylishly decorated. Amanda is a great host and it was definitely worth getting dinner and breakfast at Smithfield House. I loved all her rescue animals. For those who are not animal fans they are not inside the house.

Sally

Congratulations to hostess Amanda, our time with you was “full of wonder”.

Smithfield was a real “farm stay” experience. From the two-day old ducklings, the very caring mother of 1 month old ducklings, the geese with attitude, Millie the donkey who nudged you if she thought you were ignoring her, Stu the sheep (so named so he wouldn’t end up in one) who chewed on my shoelaces, to the pretty goats and graceful lamas, we were enchanted. The house, with its cool corridors and large rooms, transports one back to earlier centuries; the artwork took our interest, the amenities were very comfortable and Amanda took careful note of our needs. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, depite loadshedding.
